Breast Augmentation vs. Breast Lift

The distinction between a breast augmentation and a breast lift seems clear, but sometimes it’s tricky. Patients will come in for one when they really need the other or a combination of the two. Everyone is built differently and therefore the line can be a little vague. An augment enhances the breast size using an implant, such as silicone or saline. It will fill out the breast pocket and add volume to the upper part of the breast where sometimes it can become deflated. A lift only uses the breast tissue the patient already has and raises the nipple and breast to a higher and perkier place. Some women, especially after having children and breastfeeding, will have deflation of the breast. There is access skin but no or little volume behind it. In order to treat this problem, most women will need a lift as well as an augmentation. This will lift the breast, as well as, add volume to give a round full appearance. My primary concerns before treatment were pore size, uneven skin tone, and freckles in particular. I wanted to improve the quality of my skin and also prevent any further damage from occurring. I began the Obagi Condition and Enhance system 4 months ago and have had amazing results! This system utilizes prescription strength hydroquinone and tretinoin topical creams. The hydroquinone is used to reduce the appearance of freckles and other hyper pigmented areas to even out skin tone. The tretinoin decreased my pore size and completely rid my skin of blackheads. Although wrinkles are not a big concern for me yet, I have learned that prevention is the best medicine. So the tretinoin in the Obagi Condition and Enhance system will also help me retain texture and elasticity of my skin. The last few times I saw him he asked me the same questions. Did I like them? Was I happy with them? How did my clothes fit? He told me I could wear any bra and to go bra shopping and have fun.

Obviously, he has never been bra shopping. It was definitely not fun. However, swim suit shopping was a blast. All of my life, I have had trouble finding a suit to fit. But now my problem is deciding which one I want. I only bought 5 suits but with the help of my granddaughter, I kept the 2 suits that looked the best on.

As for how my clothes fit, some look better now than they did before. A few are definitely not going to work, which means I get a new wardrobe!

Well, the answer to all of his questions is that I am absolutely thrilled. Honestly, when I started this process I really didn’t have any great expectations. I figured that I never had much, so the outcome would be better. Now that I am almost finished this process, I am really excited.

I have always been comfortable with who I am. But I lost myself somewhere in all of this. Now I feel like a new person and am more aware of who I am. I am excited to be moving ahead with a new life.

Thank you all so much for making this change possible. Your entire office is warm and caring. Thank you so much for making a difference in my life as well as my body.

I Cannot Get Over How Long My Lashes Are!!

Hey ladies, just wanted to tell you all how amazing Latisse is! I started using it a month ago, and even though my results aren’t final, I am so impressed!
