We are often asked “What is the difference between a tummy tuck and a mini tummy tuck?”
A standard tummy tuck is best for someone who has a larger amount of excess fat and/or loose skin. The procedure is considered a lower abdominal lift. The excess fat and/or skin is removed, with muscle and skin tightening, and the belly button is brought through a new opening. This will help with relieving some stretch marks too.
A “mini” tummy tuck is best for someone who has minimal amounts of fat and/or loose skin. The procedure is similar to a standard tummy tuck, but the incision is much smaller (the size of a c-section), and made up to the belly button.
The best way to determine which procedure you would be the best candidate for is to come in for a consultation. After meeting with you one on one and discussing your goals, Dr. Zemmel will be able to determine which procedure is best for you. Contact our office today (804) 435-5866.
